What is DuckCards?
DuckCards is a mobile application that allows you to generate unique character cards based on Bitcoin (BTC) addresses. You can collect these cards within the app and share them with others using your device's native sharing features.
How do I add a Bitcoin address to generate a DuckCard?
You can add Bitcoin addresses in two ways:
- Enter the address manually
- Scan a QR code containing a Bitcoin address using your device's camera
Does DuckCards collect my personal information?
DuckCards collects very minimal information. We only store the Bitcoin addresses you add locally on your device. If you choose to use optional API features, your API keys are also stored locally. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email, or location. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
How do I share my DuckCard with others?
To share a DuckCard:
- Navigate to the DuckCard you want to share
- Tap the "Share" button
- Choose your preferred sharing method from your device's native sharing options
- The image will be shared according to the method you select
How do I visualize wallet balances as gold vaults?
DuckCards can visualize wallet balances as gold vaults using public APIs. By default, the app uses Mempool and Blockstream's public APIs. For enhanced features, you can optionally add your own API keys for Goldrush or Bitquery in the app settings.
How do I back up my DuckCards collection?
Currently, your collection is stored locally on your device. We recommend taking screenshots of your favorite DuckCards or using the share feature to save them elsewhere. We're working on a cloud backup feature for a future update.
Can I use DuckCards without an internet connection?
Yes, most features of DuckCards work offline. You can view your existing collection and even add new Bitcoin addresses manually. However, the QR code scanning feature and wallet balance visualization require an internet connection to access the APIs.
How do I add my own API keys for enhanced features?
To add your own API keys:
- Go to Settings in the app
- Select "API Configuration"
- Enter your Goldrush and/or Bitquery API keys in the respective fields
- Tap "Save" to store your keys locally on your device
Note: Your API keys are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
